My dog Amy

Grade 4, Jee-yeon Park

I have a dog called Amy in Ethiopia. My family raised her for 3 years since we moved to Ethiopia. She was like one of my family, my younger sister. I loved her very much because she was my first puppy. When we had to say good bye to her, it was not easy for me. I cried days and days. She also cried nights and nights.

She is 3 years old. She is a doverman pincher. She has white on her left foot and her neck. She has brown above her eyes and stomach, she also has black on her tail and her back. She is very cute.

I got her from the Korean Embassy in Ethiopia. She was like 1 month old. She was very small and very cute. But the first night she slept in our kitchen. then the second night she slept outside with my pillow and blanket in her basket. She was scared I think. She cried and scratched on the door and stuff. So, we let her in and I slept with her in my bed. When she got a little older she stayed outside.Because she became my size.

When we moved to down country of Ethiopia. She was very brave. She guarded my house very well. She slept on the back or front porch. She had a huge basket with a huge blanket in it. When people tried to come into my house. She barked and growled. She caught a bird and a mouse. She also chased and caught a monkey stealing things from our garden, and keeping us from Hyenas.

When we did fire works, she got exited. On my birthday I did a huge sparkler, the ones you hold. She jumped on me and stuff. I got scratched marks. She liked to eat meat, and to drink milk. Once we put peanut butter on her nose and she looked funny. But she licked it all off on her nose. She liked to chew on socks. We had a special tennis ball for Amy. When we threw it, she would come give it to us. That game was fun. She was a quite good soccer player. When my family played soccer, she became mad for ball. She snatched it and she never gave it back to us. Hide and Seek. We would hide outside somewhere and she would smell and find us. A few thing to tell you guys, its that, she hates taking a bath and she also hates vegetables, mushrooms, brocoli, and culiflower.

I wonder how she is doing ? I miss her a lot. She probably misses me, too. I dont know if she w
